Rolling process of sheet

PVC sheet is mainly produced by calendering. The maximum thickness of transparent sheet is 0.8mm, the opaque colored sheet is 1.2mm, and the sheet with leather grain and wood grain is also produced.

PP and ABS sheets can also be produced by calendering. The thickness tolerance of modern calenders can reach ± 0.005mm.

The main difference between extruder and calender is that it is easy to produce high quality PVC materials by calendering, and it has many advantages in vacuum molding. Due to the stress freezing in the production process, the melting collapse is very small when the material is heated, especially for PP material.

Rolling can only produce single-layer sheet, thicker sheet can be "fit" by rolling machine. Calender can produce wood grain or embossing materials.

The cost of extruded material is lower than that of calendering.
